Ethernet Orchestra is an investigation of networked improvisation, examining cognition, intercultural collaboration and learning in networked audio platforms.
Collaborations may involve any number of musicians determined on a project by project basis, which may include live networked gallery performance or discreet online improvisatory sessions.
Through the praxis of diverse cultures in collaboration, it is hoped that new approaches to networked improvisation will be given the space and time to develop in a framework of innovation and experimentation.
It forms part of the research project of Roger Mills at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, University of Technology, Sydney. Recent paper presentation at NIME++2010 Dislocated Sound: A Survey of Improvisation in Networked Audio Platforms pdf can be downloaded from here.
We are always interested in setting up new collaborations, and welcome expressions of interest to roger at netpraxis dot net.
